Our Purpose

The Gospel, to every corner of the world

Guided by our vision to spread the Gospel to every corner of the world and raise children who can preach to every nation. (Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4–8)

Why We Exist

A Calling Shaped by Faith and Heritage

Our mission statement is the heartbeat of Melbourne Chin Church — a seven-fold commitment that shapes every ministry, every gathering, and every act of service. Rooted in Scripture and the heritage of the Chin people, these purposes flow from our love for Christ, our care for one another, and our responsibility to the world around us.

Our Mission Statement

Called to Love, Send, and Preserve

Seven commitments from the MCC Constitution (Chapter 4) that shape our life together as a church.

01

Spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Proclaiming the good news with love, clarity, and boldness, so that all may know Him and receive salvation.

02

Engage in Mission Work

Reaching beyond our walls into Melbourne, Chin State, and the nations with the transforming message of Christ.

03

Develop Members Holistically

Nurturing whole-life wellbeing — growing members physically, mentally, and spiritually so every person can flourish in Christ.

04

Support Members in Hardship

Providing practical help, compassionate care, and the sustaining love of the church family to those facing hardship.

05

Guide and Teach Christ's Teachings

Grounding our community in Scripture, discipleship, and the wisdom of God's Word.

06

Preserve Chin Culture & Heritage

Respecting, preserving, and protecting Chin culture, language, and literature — the heritage God has woven into our identity.

07

Fellowship with Other Churches

Walking together with other churches in unity, mutual encouragement, and partnership for the glory of God.
